I think we can keep people in our lives. After taking some time away, Brit and I reconnected and still talk. My issue was an over reliance on my old connections.

I don't think one romantic partner can provide it all. I think we all kinds of connections. However, if we're getting most of it from others, then that's an issue.

All that said, everyone is different. Many people can be more mature about it than I was.
