I was called out on a date for opening her door back in the early 90’s. We were at university and I was from a very southern household where it was not only expected but demanded I open doors for the women in my life. My date was from NY and didn’t appreciate the gesture. We worked it out over drinks but she insisted my behavior was sexist. I suppose it’s best to ask these days.
