This is the double-edged sword of humanity,isn't it? We're capable of such beautiful things but so often prefer wallowing in our most base tendencies.

I keep hearing similar stories from other writers on NB. Seems to attract the cesspool dwellers. That being said, the first time I was published years ago, the editor advised me to avoid the comments and I always have - except for here on Medium. People are quite nice and supportive.
