I think there was a period of time in my late teens when I was insecure and keenly aware I didn’t quite fit in. I fit in more than some — so I feel like I’m being self-indulgent when I say that. However, I distinctly remember looking around at people my first year at college and thinking I needed to change.

All of this really amuses me as I get older. I’ve often said if I had a time machine, I would spend most of my days going back in time and slapping myself upside the head for focusing on things that don’t matter.
